Barbara Ballard has over 23 years of experience with Micro Focus and plays a vital role in the company’s product group. As a Senior Product Manager focused on host access security and zero-footprint access solutions, Barbara works closely with customers worldwide to determine their unique host access needs. In doing so, Barbara is able to offer practical, integrated business solutions to help customers bring their mainframes and other backend hosts into modern security and access environments.

Trevor Bidle, Information Security and Compliance Officer, US Signal

As Information Security and Compliance Office, Trevor Bidle is responsible for the Physical, Logical, and Cybersecurity of US Signal. Bidle leads US Signal’s Security Operations Center, Compliance Program, and Internal Audit functions. Before joining US Signal in 2003, Trevor held technical and management positions with SBC Communications, Choice One Communications, and US Xchange, LLC. Bidle has over 24 years of experience leading Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering, and Networking teams.

Phil Campeau, Global Systems Engineering Manager, WireX Systems

Philip Campeau is a senior systems engineer at WireX Systems. He has been in the computer industry for over 25 years, specializing in computer security for the last 19. He has helped design and implement networks and security solutions for some of the largest computer networks in the world. For the 12 nine years, he has worked with security technology companies such as Imperva and WireX Systems to introduce next-generation products and help companies recognize value and enable their security team to get the best return on their investment.

Dr. Michael Chahino, Chief Information Officer, Elgin Community College, President of the Information Technology Commission at ICCCA (Illinois Council of Community College Administrators)

Dr. Chahino has served as the Chief Information Officer at Elgin Community College (ECC) since May 2017, and as the Executive Director of Network Operations and Information Security since January 2006. He is also an adjunct faculty member of ECC and taught in the areas of computer & information systems, economics, business, and management. Prior to working at ECC Dr. Chahino worked in different capacities with DeVry University, the National University of Health Sciences, the Universal Technical Institute and as a Research Economist at the Near East Bureau of the US State Department. Dr. Chahino earned a bachelor degree and a master degree in international economics from Illinois State University and has a doctorate degree in educational technology from Northern Illinois University.

Keith Conlee, Chief Security Officer, IT, College of DuPage

Keith Conlee has over 30 years in the Information Technology field delivering innovative and effective solutions including working at the National Security Agency (NSA), Bell Laboratories/Lucent Technology, and is currently the Chief Security Officer for Information Technology at the College of DuPage. His duties are focused on building strong security governance, security policy/procedure and risk management programs including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery. Keith is a Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP)™, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA®), and a Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP). He is an active member in the ISC2, ISACA, PCI Security Standards Council, and the BRPA of Chicagoland. His undergraduate and graduate education is in Computer Science, and with an added Law Degree gives Keith the unique ability to interpret and align technical legal regulatory compliance and business objectives.

Dave Gochenaur, Sr. Director, Information Security, Ensono

With over 30 years of experience in Information Security, Dave is currently the leader of Ensono’s IT Risk and Cybersecurity Program organization. In this role Dave is responsible for the overall strategy around IT risk identification and treatment for Ensono. Additionally, Dave is responsible for Ensono’s Cybersecurity policies, governance, compliance, threat management and client relations as it relates to Cybersecurity. Prior to joining Ensono Dave held senior Information Security roles in several organizations across multiple industries including CISO for Aon, Kellogg’s and Checkfree. Dave is also active in the Cloud Security Alliance and was one of the authors of the Consensus Assessments Initiative Questionnaire document, designed to help organizations assess their Cloud vendors. Dave also is an active member of the Information Systems Security Association and Information Systems Audit and Control Association.

Chris Goettl, Director of Product Management, Ivanti

Chris Goettl has over 15 years of experience in IT Management. He spent several years working in IT before joining Shavlik in 2004. Chris started in the Shavlik support team, supported OEM partners integrating Shavlik SDK’s, worked in Sales as a Systems Engineer, and is now the Product Manager for the Shavlik Protect product line.

Ray Hicks, Founder & CEO, 5th Column

  • Ray is recognized as one of the key innovators and deployment leaders for new technologies & solutions within the US Government’s Justice, Defense, and Intelligence communities to which he maintains multiple special designations and clearances.
  • While Director of Computer & Telecommunications Security at SAIC and Northrup Grumman Ray became the Chief Architect of the US Department of Homeland Security’s IT, Security and Application Infrastructure and created the first US “Computer Security Incident Response Center” (CSIRC).
  • Ray is credited with pioneering foundational internet protocols and worked closely with regulatory bodies to define the world’s first secure protocol for IP “IPSEC” and went on to commercialize IPSEC at UUNET/MCI WorldCom. From there, he was recruited into the US Government’s, Justice, NSA and Defense organizations who needed his unique assets.
  • Ray also founded Looking Glass Systems with Jeff Ahlerich, who was Ray’s deputy at DHS, in 2004 which gave birth to OPSWAT, The Oasis SDK, Looking Glass Networks and many other ventures that were spun out over course of time with Looking Glass Cyber Solutions continuing to operate today. Ray left Looking Glass in 2008.
  • As CTO of Terra Echos, Ray oversaw the Idaho National Lab, Sandia National Lab, and US Naval Undersea Warfare Special Projects which led to an exclusive global licensing contract to commercialize fiberoptic sensor technology developed at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center.

Matt Johnson, Systems Engineer, Illumio

Matt Johnson is a Regional Systems Engineer at Illumio. He focuses on evangelizing the benefits of micro-segmentation as well as working with Illumio customers to implement successful segmentation projects. Prior to Illumio, Matt was at AHEAD helping partners with enterprise IT organizations to drive cloud adoption and acceleration.

Michael Manske is a senior architect and leads the managed security practice. He works with our clients to operationalize security, mitigate security risks, and meet business objectives. Michael and his team understand the security threats and technologies required to support complex business and technology objectives while reducing security risks. Michael has more than 15 years of security, infrastructure, managed services and consulting experience across multiple industries and technical competencies.

Derek Milroy, Enterprise Security Architect, U.S. Cellular

Derek has been implementing security in corporate environments, as both an internal employee and a consultant, for five years. Although he has implemented firewalls, IDSs, and VPNs for various employers and clients he focuses heavily on securing Microsoft hosts and Domain structures. He has hardened hundreds of hosts in environments ranging from less than a dozen servers to enterprise environments with over 1000 servers and thousands of users. In conjunction with hardening he has also crafted and implemented standards, policies, and procedures to maintain the security of his employer’s / client’s environments.

James Mountain, Director of Information Security, Information Technology, Palmer College of Chiropractic

James Mountain is an experienced leader with over 16 years in IT. His current role is the Director of Information Security for Palmer College of Chiropractic providing strategic leadership and direction for campus academic technology applications and initiatives. His past work experiences include private, public and government industries. He has been a CISSP since 2011 while he worked for the Department of Defense. His main areas of focus are security, risk management, and infrastructure stability.

Arlene Yetnikoff, Director of Information Security, DePaul University

Arlene Yetnikoff is the Director of Information Security for DePaul University. DePaul University is one of the ten largest private universities in the United States, offering numerous degrees in Computer Science and other fields, including a Masters in Computer, Information and Network Security and a Bachelor’s in Information Assurance and Security Engineering. Arlene has worked in Information Security for over twenty years both as a consultant, educator and hands-on practitioner. Arlene’s many years of consulting experience in the Technology Risk group of a major accounting firm allowed her to help clients of varied sizes in numerous industries assess and design their information protection architecture, policies and processes. Today, Arlene leads DePaul’s Information Security and Business Continuity initiatives. Arlene also teaches Information Security sessions at DePaul and in the University of Chicago’s Masters of Computer Science program. Arlene is a CISSP and a CISA. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Chicago and a Masters in Computer Science, Telecommunications from DePaul University.
