Paul S. Raines, CISO, United Nations Development Programme

Paul Raines is the Chief Information Security Officer for the United Nations Development Programme.  In that capacity he is responsible for managing the cyber-security and disaster recovery planning for the Organisation’s 177 locations around the world.  His unit is the first and only United Nations unit to be both ISO 9001, ISO 20000 and ISO 27001 certified.  His information security unit has won international awards for outstanding performance including an Honors Laureate award from Computer World magazine in 2013 and CSO50 awards from CSO magazine for 5 of the past 6 years—a feat never before accomplished in the history of the award.  The CSO award honors the top 50 cybersecurity organisations in the world for business value and thought leadership and UNDP is the first and only organisation to have won the award for 3 consecutive years.  In 2020 his unit was award a Future Edge 50 award by CIO magazine for technological innovation in developing an incident response and threat hunting platform. Finally, Computer World magazine selected Mr. Raines for its Premier 100 award for being among the 100 most influential IT leaders for 2016—the second time Mr. Raines has won this award in his career.

 

Prior to UNDP, Mr. Raines worked for the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) where he, as well as other members of the organisation, was a joint recipient the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize.  Prior to working for the United Nations he was the Chief Information Security Officer for Bloomberg LP, Barclays Capital and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.  He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.  For relaxation he enjoys opera, Shakespearean plays, French wine and sometimes just sitting in a cafe with an espresso and pain au chocolat reading a good book on Roman history.

 

Troy Wilkinson, Head of Cyber Security Data Analytics & Research, Interpublic Group

Troy Wilkinson began his career serving others as a Law Enforcement officer. He commanded a Joint Terrorism Task Force, was a lead bomb investigator, and violent crime and homicide detective however his greatest achievement in the field of law enforcement came from his ability and skill investigating and prosecuting child pornography and other electronic crimes.

 

Wilkinson was recruited by the U.S. State Department to train police officers in Kosovo on cyber investigations. Working under the George W Bush and Obama presidencies, he was a top U.S. cyber investigator seconded to the United Nations and European Union to lead investigations into political corruption, organized crime, war crimes, financial crimes and terrorism. Together with a team of international investigators, Wilkinson built the first IT forensics lab in the European Union Mission in Kosovo.

 

After returning home to the U.S, Wilkinson co-founded Axiom Cyber Solutions, with a mission to develop intelligent, automated, and self-healing cyber security platforms to help secure America’s businesses against cybercriminals. He exited the company in June 2019 when Axiom was acquired by a private equity firm.

 

Wilkinson is currently the Head of Cybersecurity Data Analytics and Research with Interpublic Group, a Fortune 500 company. Prior to his current position, Wilkinson consulted with and served as the Chief Information Security Officer for International Cruise & Excursions.

 

Wilkinson is a worldwide speaker on cybersecurity, co-authored an Amazon Best Seller, and is featured on local Las Vegas news stations. He is a consultant with several VC firms and has contributed to numerous national syndicated publications on cybersecurity topics including ransomware, DDoS, cyber-crime trends, and cyber security careers.

 

Shahir Shah, Sr. Director, Business Security Officer, ADP

An accomplished results-driven thought leader and executive with proven successes and progressive responsibilities in information security strategy, risk management, program development, information assurance, and leadership. Proven track record managing all aspects of information security (people, process, and technology) to support multi-billion-dollar revenue and growth initiatives. Jim Desmond, Chief Security Officer, Asurion

Jim Desmond is a career security professional and the Chief Security Officer at Asurion.  Previously, he was the Chief Security Officer at Elevate, a financial technology firm based in Fort Worth, Texas. He has over 20 years of experience in technology & security leadership with a primary focus on financial services working for such companies as National City Bank (now PNC), Intuit, Merrill Lynch and Vantiv. Jim holds an undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University, a masters degree in Information Assurance from Norwich University and multiple security certifications including CISSP and CFE. He is an inveterate fan of all Cleveland sports, yes, even the Cleveland Browns.

 

Snehal Contractor, Vice President, Worldwide Systems Engineering and Technical Services, Stellar Cyber

Snehal Contractor is responsible for Worldwide Systems Engineering and Technical Service at Stellar Cyber. He is an engineering professional with over 30 years of experience in technical sales, marketing, and management. Snehal has worked for startup companies such as Netscreen, Palo Alto Networks, Riverbed, Fortinet, Aerohive, Cisco, and USRobotics. During his tenure at these companies, he has supported the largest Service Providers and System Integrators globally. Some of the accounts he has supported are Accenture, Dimension Data, Verizon, French Telecom, ATT, Forsythe Security, and Sprint; these accounts eventually became the top partners for his company. Snehal is called upon to be a trusted consultant to on-board these global partners from business development to complete technical enablement. Snehal earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from University of Illinois.
