Terry Brugger, CTO / CISO, Scalesology

 

Terry Brugger, PhD did their undergrad at Purdue where they first got bitten by the security bug. They went on to Lawrence Livermore National Lab where their work became increasingly security focused, and they concurrently worked on their dissertation, “The Quantitative Comparison of Computer Networks” at UC Davis. As they finished their dissertation, they became a contractor for a large Federal agency where they led the build out of the Security Operations Center. That took them to Booz Allen Hamilton, where they began to perform full-scope information security consulting for a variety of Federal and large corporate clients. After a stint at a big data security analytics startup, Dr. Brugger started BuboWerks and subsequently merged into Scalesology where they lead development and security teams that handle both internal and client services delivery.

 

Alex Flores, Sr. Solutions Engineer, Astrix Security

 

Alex Flores is the lead for solutions engineering & architecture for Astrix security, the only security company focused on securing non-human identities. Alex has spent the past decade designing and deploying solutions to help protect some of the world’s largest organizations against attack. Prior to Astrix, Alex was a senior member of Okta’s identity security solutions engineering team as well as the Lead SE for CyberArk’s Central US solutions engineering team. Alex holds a bachelor’s of science from Illinois State University in the field of Information Security, Assurance, & Applied Cryptography.

Dan Horwich, President & Executive Director, CAMP IT Conferences

 

In 2001, Dan Horwich earned the title of President and Executive Director of CAMP IT Conferences. Prior to joining CAMP IT, Dan held sales and sales management positions at U.S. Robotics, 3Com, Mercantec, Spring Tide Networks, and Lucent Technologies, winning several sales and professional development awards.

 

An active networker, focused on making a difference in the professional lives of IT practitioners, Dan has built a win-win climate for CAMP IT’s attendees, speakers, and sponsors. He’s a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BBA in Marketing and lives in Glenview, IL with his wife and two daughters.

Amir Javeri, Senior Manager, Cloud Security, Protiviti Cloud Security

 

Amir is a Senior Manager with Protiviti’s Cloud Security team and a former Big 4 Advisory consultant. Amir’s entire career has been spent in the Cloud Security consulting space aiding cloud-adopting and cloud-incipient organizations in securing their cloud presence or establishing guardrails to encourage secure cloud adoption. He has experience leading dozens of AWS, Azure, and GCP-oriented cloud security engagements with clients in across 10+ industries (including 5 “Fortune 100” companies). These engagements centered around security efforts related to IaaS/Web app security assessments, tools rationalizations, cloud preparation/adoption strategies, and incident response remediation.

Dan Krueger, Senior Manager, Information Security, W.W. Grainger, Inc.

 

Dan has been a Senior Technical Leader in Enterprise IT Cybersecurity and Infrastructure for the past 25 years working in Healthcare, Retail, e-Commerce, Supply Chain, Telecom, and Financial Services organizations.

 

Dan currently has responsibilities within Enterprise Security Architecture, Engineering, and Operations, including Vulnerability Mgt, Cloud Security, Threat Intelligence, Data Protection, EDR/MDR, and GRC. Dan has presented at a number of Cybersecurity & IT Conferences and CISO events. Dan and his wife Jelia have three children and three grandchildren all living in the Philippines. Dan is an Illinois High School Softball and Volleyball official for the past 38 years and is an IHSA Softball Clinician and State Rules Interpreter.

John McDonough, Sr. Cloud Devops Architect, Fortinet

 

John McDonough is a Senior Cloud Architect / Cloud DevOps Engineer at Fortinet for the past 3 years, delivering innovative Cloud deployment and automation solutions to global customers.  Prior to Fortinet John was a Developer Advocate for 6 years for Cisco Systems’ DevNet, capping the 18 years he was at Cisco. During his 35-year software development career John has contributed to Open-Source projects, Ansible and OpenStack, is a distinguished speaker at many Cisco Live events and has spoken about Open-Source contribution and Data Center and Cloud automation at many industry events, including SXSW, DevOps Days, API Days, HashiConf, MS Build, and Github Universe.

 

John resides in the country in Sussex New Jersey with his wife and his cat Gigi. He likes to ride bikes, fly kites, sit on the beach, and occasionally participate in trivia and karaoke at the local pub.

Derek Milroy, Senior Security Architect, U.S. Cellular

 

Derek has been implementing security in corporate environments, as both an internal employee and a consultant, for five years. Although he has implemented firewalls, IDSs, and VPNs for various employers and clients he focuses heavily on securing Microsoft hosts and Domain structures. He has hardened hundreds of hosts in environments ranging from less than a dozen servers to enterprise environments with over 1000 servers and thousands of users. In conjunction with hardening he has also crafted and implemented standards, policies, and procedures to maintain the security of his employer’s / client’s environments.

Eric Poole is a CISO with over 15 years of information security experience in the financial services and legal industries. Eric has a background in engineering and has been building secure solutions in the cloud for nearly a decade. Eric has a passion for enabling business success through the secure use of technology and enjoys the life long learning opportunities that security provides.

Prakash Sinha, Sr. Director & Technology Evangelist, Application Security & Delivery, Radware 

 

Prakash Sinha is a senior director of application security and availability and a technology evangelist for Radware and brings over 34 years of experience in product and corporate strategy, product management, product marketing and engineering. Prakash has been a part of executive teams of four software and network infrastructure startups, all of which were acquired. Before Radware, Prakash led product management for Citrix application delivery and application security products. Prior to Citrix, Prakash held leadership positions in architecture, engineering, and product management for ETL, WAF, ESB and B2B integration hardware and software at leading technology companies such as Cisco, Informatica, and Tandem Computers. Prakash holds a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from BIT, Mesra, and an MBA from Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
